Irondale Community School

Join the City of Irondale and the Greater Irondale Chamber of Commerce for the annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony at 11 AM on Saturday, December 15 (rescheduled from December 8).

A special thank you to Alabama State Representative for the 45th District, Dickie Drake, for sponsoring this year’s parade.

Parade line-up is 10 AM at Irondale Community School. The parade begins at 11 AM and ends at City Hall (see map below). The tree lighting ceremony takes place in front of City Hall at approximately 11:45 AM, and refreshments will be provided afterward by the Exchange Club of Irondale.

The Chamber encourages area businesses, schools, and organizations to sponsor a float in the parade. (We will have prizes!) There is NO charge to enter a float. Click here for an application, which includes details.  In light of the rescheduled parade, if you originally submitted an application but cannot participate in the parade on the new date, please email Tellis Shoemaker. Likewise, if you are interested in marching or entering a float in the parade but have not submitted an application, you must do so no later than 12 noon on Thursday, December 13.

Grand Marshal of the 2018 Irondale Christmas Parade will be Brittany Wagner, who delivered an unforgettable presentation at the Chamber’s January 2018 membership luncheon. Brittany is best known as an academic counselor to athletes featured on the Netflix original docuseries, “Last Chance U.” Known for her repeated question to those athletes, “Do you have a pencil?,” Brittany began her company, “Ten Thousand Pencils” in 2017 and now provides life coaching, academic counseling, and motivational speaking services nationwide.
